This year, the Voices of Friends: Poetry & Art almanac takes on a special resonance. Its pages are dedicated to the anniversaries of two great enlighteners whose legacy bridges cultures and eras — Abai Kunanbaev, the Kazakh poet, thinker, and reformer, and Igor Savitsky, the legendary collector and guardian of Central Asian art.
This almanac is more than just a collection of poems and paintings. It is a living fabric of cultural dialogue, where word and image intertwine to create a bridge between past and future, East and West.
For poets and artists, participating in this project is an opportunity to step into the international cultural arena, to touch a great heritage, and to become part of a story that is read and seen in many countries around the world.
Voices of Friends is a place where creators speak in unison, and their voices echo through time.
The almanac is published in London by Hertfordshire Press, a British publishing house that unites English-speaking readers with Eurasia through the publication of books, magazines, and guidebooks by authors of the region.
