Aziz Abdukhakimov, Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan on Environmental Issues and Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, met with the leadership of Vision Invest and SUEZ to discuss the implementation of a project aimed at establishing a high-tech industrial waste management cluster in Uzbekistan, the National Committee reported.
The project has been supported by the Head of State, receiving additional momentum for accelerating the preparatory stages and moving toward its practical implementation.
Vision Invest is a leading Saudi investment and infrastructure company implementing projects within the framework of public-private partnerships. Together with SUEZ — a global leader in water supply, wastewater treatment, and waste recycling with more than 160 years of international experience — the company contributes to the development of next-generation infrastructure in the region and supports the transition toward a more sustainable and environmentally oriented economy through strategic cooperation with government institutions and international partners.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key stages of the project’s implementation, including the completion of the preliminary feasibility study, the selection of technological solutions aimed at transforming waste into a resource, and the preparation of the site for the construction of the high-tech industrial waste management cluster.
The parties agreed to sign an investment agreement for the project during the upcoming Eco Expo Central Asia 2026 international exhibition, which will take place in Samarkand on June 2–4, 2026. It is planned to commence construction works in June of this year.
The implementation of the project under the patronage of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change will mark an important step toward establishing a modern industrial waste management system in Uzbekistan by combining the investment capacity of Vision Invest with the technological expertise of SUEZ.
