The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia, which will be located at the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies – Green University in Tashkent.
The center will serve as a regional platform for joint scientific research, capacity building, knowledge and technology exchange and the promotion of green and sustainable development across Central Asia.
The memorandum outlines a wide range of areas for cooperation, including joint research and development, scientific conferences and workshops, publication of collaborative studies, laboratory modernization, implementation of applied environmental projects, and the training of highly qualified specialists.
The signing of the memorandum marks a significant step toward deepening environmental cooperation between Uzbekistan and China and advancing joint efforts to address global climate challenges while strengthening regional partnerships.
