Uzbek-Hungarian science park opens in Jizzakh

The official opening ceremony of the INNO Science Park, established in cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary, was held in the Jizzakh region on March 6, the Uzbek government’s website reported.

The event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov, Deputy Governor of Jizzakh region Zafar Azimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Uzbekistan József Rózsa, President of the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference Béla Merkely, Rector of Óbuda University Levente Kovács, as well as leaders and specialists of higher education institutions from both countries.

Within the framework of INNO Science Park, scientific research and innovative developments are planned in priority areas such as engineering, energy, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, electronics and automation, unmanned aerial vehicles, materials science, chemical technologies, food safety, and medical technologies.

The park will also host modern laboratories, as well as business incubator and accelerator mechanisms aimed at supporting startup projects.
