At the August National Conference of Education Workers of Kazakhstan on August 26, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about the education and upbringing of youth.
In his opinion, schools should not only impart knowledge but also cultivate a confident, courageous, and optimistic and future-oriented generation.
According to Tokayev, the task of teachers is to cultivate optimists, not gloomy people who doubt themselves and sow despair.
“We are a nation of winners, ready to overcome all difficulties and threats, looking forward with confidence, believing in a bright future,” he said.
Young people should not always look for the causes of problems and defeats in the past, in other countries or peoples, but should rely on their own strengths.
The President also emphasized the need to free teachers from excessive bureaucracy, not turn the education system into a field of constant experimentation, and preserve historical truth in textbooks.
He added that artificial intelligence should become a new opportunity and a social lift for young people, and children should be protected from the negative influence of social media.
