U.S.–Tajik partnership on critical minerals highlighted

U.S. Chargé d’affaires, a.i. Carson Relitz Rocker emphasized the strategic importance of critical minerals and rare earths in the global economy at the 2nd Annual International Mining and Metallurgical Investment Forum in Dushanbe last week, according to the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan.

Chargé Relitz Rocker highlighted Tajikistan’s abundant mineral resources as a key opportunity for sustainable growth, industrial development, and integration into secure global supply chains during her comments on the Rare Earth Panel.  She noted recent U.S.–Tajik achievements, including partnerships in mining, agriculture, and digital infrastructure, and outlined U.S. priorities in securing supply chains, promoting trade, supporting industrial investment, and enhancing regional stability.

“The minerals beneath this country’s mountains are not just rocks or ore, they are the building blocks of the 21st-century economy.  They can power prosperity, support sovereignty, strengthen global partnerships, and open new horizons for the young people of this nation,” Chargé d’affaires Relitz Rocker said.

The forum brought together government officials, industry leaders, and international investors to advance innovation, investment, and collaboration in Tajikistan’s mining and metallurgical sectors.
