Tajikistan sends humanitarian aid to quake-hit Afghanistan

On September 8, on the instructions of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, a convoy of trucks with humanitarian aid was sent to the people of Afghanistan, who suffered from a strong earthquake.

The aid loaded on a caravan of trucks consists of 24 types of necessary products and materials, including flour, oil, sugar, rice, bedding, clothing and footwear for children, adolescents and adults, as well as tents, building materials, reinforcement, boards, slate, cement, and other goods.

The sent aid is more than 3 thousand tons.

This step is a clear manifestation of the compassion of the people of Tajikistan to the brotherly people of Afghanistan and testifies to the humane and good-neighborly policy of Tajikistan, Rahmon’s press service said.

On August 31 and September 1, a powerful earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, causing significant material damage and human casualties.
