Kyrgyzstan saw dramatic decrease in exports in 2025

The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan has published figures of the country’s foreign trade in 2025, which amounted to $15.8 billion, a 10.2% decrease compared to 2024. Kyrgyzstan’s exports fell significantly by 44.5%, while imports increased by 3.9%.

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan exported its products to Russia (22.9% of all exports), Kazakhstan (15.9%), Switzerland (15.4%), Uzbekistan (14.2%), Great Britain (8.2%), China (5.4%), the United Arab Emirates (4.3%), and Turkey (2.7%).

Most imports to Kyrgyzstan came from China (37.2%), followed by Russia (24.6%), Kazakhstan (10.9%), Uzbekistan (4.6%), South Korea (3.9%), Turkey (2.9%), the U.S. (1.7%), and Germany (1.5%).

Gold remained Kyrgyzstan’s main export commodity in 2025, accounting for 23.9% of all exports, followed by ores and concentrates of precious metals (14.5%), equipment (7.4%), electric machinery and equipment (5.2%), fruit and vegetables (5.2%), garment and clothes (3.8%), and motor vehicles and spare parts (3.5%).

Kyrgyzstan mainly imported industrial and mechanical equipment (16.8% of all imports), motor vehicles and spare parts (14.5%), petroleum products (9.7%), electric machinery and equipment (6.3%), and ferrous metals (5.7%).
