First container train launched along China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan multimodal route

UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd., a joint venture established in China with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC, has launched the first pilot container train from China to Tajikistan. This project is a practical step toward implementation of agreements aimed at deepening regional cooperation, reached by presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in Dushanbe in 2025.

According to the Uzbek company, the train consists of eight forty-foot containers loaded with consumer goods and construction equipment. The train departed from Lanzhou station and will travel to Dushanbe along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan multimodal transport corridor.

The total length of the route exceeds 3,500 kilometers, and the cargo delivery time is 18-20 days.

Thanks to Uzbekistan Railways’ support for logistics initiatives, tariff preferences have been established on this multimodal route. This pilot project confirms Uztemiryulkonteyner’s practical readiness to organize regular container transportation between China and Central Asia.
