The government of Kyrgyzstan has drafted the country’s National Development Program until 2030 and submitted the document for public discussion.
The Program aims to achieve the following targets by 2030:
- GDP – not less than $30 billion
- GDP per capita – $3,900
- Annual GDP growth – 11-12%
- The size of the state external debt at the level of 40-60% of GDP
- Unemployment – no more than 5%
- The size of investment projects pool to GDP – not less than 13%
- Kyrgyzstan’s entry into the top 100 countries in terms of the Human Development Index.
The Program identifies four key areas of development:
- Industrialization (with a focus on the development of the mining and manufacturing industries)
- Regional hub (development of Kyrgyzstan as a center of logistics, trade, and financial flows in the region)
- Agriculture and tourism (strengthening competitive advantages in the agricultural sector and developing tourism potential)
- Green energy (creation of a strong base of renewable energy sources and development of small and large hydroelectric power plants).
