Specialists from Uzbekistan have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to prepare a master plan for an “Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Garden.”
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry says it has allocated a 50-hectare land plot in the village of Bash-Kara-Suu near Bishkek for the project with a preliminary cost of $500,000. The funding will be provided by Uzbekistan.
The “Friendship Garden” project includes the establishment of a modern orchard using drip irrigation and advanced agricultural technologies. A new variety of cherry tree, resistant to cold climates, will be planted in the new orchard.
The project symbolizes friendship and cooperation between the two countries. According to the ministry, the new “Friendship Garden” will be inaugurated by presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan as part of the Uzbek leader’s planned visit in 2026.
