Khan Tengri Innovation Hub opens in Shanghai to promote Kazakh and Central Asian tech companies in China

The Khan Tengri Innovation Hub, the first specialized platform for integrating the technological potential of Central Asian countries with the Chinese hi-tech ecosystem, opened on July 26 in the Zhangjiang Science City in Shanghai.

The hub’s initiator was the Kazakhstani company Growth Vision Pro, supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, as well as leading regional technology parks Astana Hub (Kazakhstan) and IT Park Uzbekistan.

The Khan Tengri Innovation Hub was designed as a platform for next-generation technological diplomacy, connecting startups, innovative companies and R&D centers of Central Eurasia with the Chinese market.

“The Khan Tengri Innovation Hub will link startups and entrepreneurs from our region to Chinese investors, and will also open access to incubation and acceleration programs. We are confident that the hub will play an important role in promoting the products of our technology companies in the Chinese market,” emphasized Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.

Key objectives of the hub include:

– Development of cross-border technology transfer in the field of digitalization, high technology and R&D

– Support for the entry of IT companies and startups from Central Asia into the Chinese market

– Ensuring a “soft entry” for Chinese technology companies into the markets of Eurasia and further to Europe and the MENA region through the Middle Corridor

– Creating conditions for joint R&D projects, technology transfer and attraction of venture capital

– Increasing awareness of the countries of Central Eurasia in China.

The Khan Tengri Innovation Hub will become a platform where companies from Kazakhstan and Central Asia can start and develop business in China.

The hub offers modern offices, co-working areas, and serviced apartments for convenient work and life in one of the leading high-tech parks in China.

Most importantly, it offers conditions for ‘soft-landing’ — support at all stages: from legal and tax advice to assistance in establishing contacts with Chinese investors, production partners, and accelerators.
