As part of Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to develop domestic tourism, make travel more affordable for the population and improve transport connectivity between regions, fares for domestic air travel have been reduced by up to 20 percent, according to the country’s Tourism Committee.
In line with the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, particular attention is being paid to improving convenience for domestic air passengers, optimising ticket prices and expanding public access to air transport services.
As a result of the measures taken, Uzbekistan Airways has revised its fares on domestic routes. Effective 16 October this year, airfares on domestic flights have been reduced by an average of up to 20 percent.
Lower airfares will give travellers more opportunities to plan their trips efficiently and visit historical monuments, cultural heritage sites and natural attractions across the country. The measure is also expected to strengthen transport links between regions and help reduce travel expenses for both business trips and personal journeys.
Optimising domestic airfares is an important step towards further promoting tourism within the country, increasing domestic tourist flows and unlocking the tourism potential of Uzbekistan’s regions.
