Central Asia and China hold Furniture and Construction Industry Forum

The 2025 Central Asia–China Furniture and Construction Industry Cooperation Forum was held in Astana last week. As part of the forum, a founding ceremony was held for the Association of Furniture and Building Materials Manufacturers of Central Asia and China. The event brought together around 100 business representatives from China and countries of the region, Kazakh Invest reported.

The forum served as an important platform for strengthening trade and economic ties and fostering cooperation in the furniture and building materials sectors. Participants discussed the establishment of joint ventures, technology implementation, knowledge exchange, and access to international markets.

Arman Aksubayev, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan delivered a welcome address. He emphasized the strategic importance of establishing the Association as a tool for deepening regional cooperation and noted that Kazakhstan stands ready to provide the necessary support for its development.

“The establishment of the Association opens up broad opportunities for attracting investment, creating value chains, and entering new export markets. I am confident that such initiatives will become drivers of industry growth and a model of effective partnership between governments and businesses,” said Aksubayev.

During the forum, Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakh Invest, presented Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities and spoke about the project to establish a furniture and construction industrial park.

“As part of our cooperation with the Association, we have initiated a project to establish a furniture and construction industrial park in Kazakhstan, with an estimated investment of around $100 million. The project envisions the establishment of factories producing furniture, windows, doors, and building materials, as well as the creation of up to 10,000 jobs. We are ready to provide comprehensive support to ensure the swift implementation of this project,” said Kozhanov.
