Another train tour launched between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

After launching a four-day train tour in November connecting the cities of Almaty, Turkestan, and Tashkent, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), Kazakhstan’s national railway company, has announced the launch of another train tour, “Jibek Joly (Silk Road) 2.0,” along the route Almaty-Turkestan-Tashkent-Samarkand-Shymkent-Almaty. The first train on this route will depart on January 2 and return to Almaty on January 7, 2025.

On the first stop, in Turkestan, one of the oldest cities of Kazakhstan, passengers will spend the whole day visiting historical places such as the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a unique architectural monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In Tashkent, passengers will visit historical sites and modern attractions of the capital of Uzbekistan, including the Magic City theme park.

In the ancient Uzbek city of Samarkand, the tour program includes visiting such famous places as the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Registan Square, and the Ulugbek Madrasah.

The last stop of the tour is in Shymkent, the third-largest city in Kazakhstan.
