Seid Atambayev, a man who knows how to surprise

After many years of working with writers, artists, filmmakers, musicians, and creative professionals from across the world, I have noticed one thing: the most inspiring discoveries often come from the most unexpected places.

Imagine this.

A public servant from Kyrgyzstan. A member of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) for two terms. An engineer by education, later earning a Master’s degree in Management. A family man, a professional, a respected public figure.

Not exactly the profile one would immediately associate with an artist.

And yet, behind this very practical biography is a passionate painter creating works that range from natural landscapes to contemporary abstract art.

This year, many guests of our international projects had the opportunity to discover the work of Seid Atambayev.

Although he came to painting relatively recently and continues to study under experienced masters, art has already become an essential part of his life.

His works were exhibited at MEGA Fest in London, where they received an exceptionally warm response from visitors. Among the guests were renowned filmmakers, writers, poets, diplomats, publishers, and cultural figures from around the world. Many were impressed by the sincerity, energy, and unique artistic vision reflected in his paintings.

Particularly encouraging was the number of people who expressed a desire to meet the artist personally and see his future work. That opportunity is expected to come later this year during the Hertfordshire Press Award 2026, taking place from 25-28 November in Greenock and Glasgow, Scotland. Many festival guests are already looking forward to Seid Atambayev’s next exhibition and the chance to meet him in person.

His story is a powerful reminder that creativity is not limited by profession, age, education, or career path. Talent can reveal itself at any stage of life and open completely new horizons.

If you would like to share your own creative work with an international audience, we invite you to join our upcoming festivals and events.
