Diplomacy has long extended beyond embassy walls and formal negotiations. It also lives through personal encounters, the exchange of books and conversations that help countries understand one another more deeply.
In London, our publisher and founder of Silk Road Media, Marat Akhmedjanov, met Dr Mohammad Faisal, an experienced Pakistani diplomat who served as High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the United Kingdom from 2023 to 2026.
Marat presented Dr Faisal with the latest issue of OCA Magazine and The Silk Road Revisited, written by the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Nick Rowan. The meeting brought together Britain, Pakistan and Central Asia, while the ancient Silk Road once again became a space for contemporary dialogue.
Dr Mohammad Faisal joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1995. During his distinguished career, he served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, representing his country in several important international roles.
Encounters like this reflect the very purpose of OCA Magazine.
