On November 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the improvement of the system of external labor migration and organization of migration processes in line with international standards.
Thanks to the systematic work carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years to ensure the organized employment of citizens abroad, the labor market is diversifying, with citizens going abroad mainly for high-paying jobs. As a result, despite a decrease in the number of citizens working abroad compared to 2016, the amount of money they sent home grew from $3.8 billion to $15.8 billion in the first ten months of 2025.
There is high demand for qualified specialists in the international labor market. At present, there are orders for 140 thousand specialists, but significant work still needs to be done to train workers who meet the language and professional skills requirements.
A Center for preparation for work abroad will be established in Uchtepa district of Tashkent, and a single center for migration services will be established in Termez. German and Japanese language schools will be opened in Yashnabad district of the capital in cooperation with international companies.
It was noted that in recent years, the flow of migrants to European countries has increased fourfold. The importance of strengthening the legal protection of citizens working there was emphasized. Currently, there are no agreements on labor migration with a number of European countries. The President instructed to speed up the development of relevant intergovernmental documents.
It is also planned to increase the number of attachés for labor migration issues and representative offices of the Agency of Migration under the Cabinet of Ministers abroad, as well as to open mobile visa center offices in the regions of Uzbekistan.
