Uzbekistan and Turkiye hold business forum

The Uzbekistan-Turkiye Business Forum was held on June 16 in Tashkent.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, Minister of Trade of Turkiye Omer Bolat, as well as representatives of government agencies, business circles, investors, major corporations, and business associations from both countries, according to the Uzbek government’s website.  

The forum was aimed at further expanding trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkiye.

The forum brought together nearly 350 participants, including representatives of about 60 leading Turkish companies and more than 200 members of Turkish business circles.

Speakers at the forum emphasized that the historical closeness, mutual trust, and fraternal ties connecting Uzbekistan and Turkiye today serve as a solid foundation for a comprehensive economic partnership.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkiye has risen to a new stage with projects in the fields of energy, industry, automotive production, pharmaceuticals, geology, construction, infrastructure, and services.

In 2025, trade between the two countries amounted to $3 billion. Between 2017 and 2025, trade turnover increased 1.9 times. Forum participants emphasized that increasing the volume of mutual trade to USD 5 billion is an important priority set by the leaders of the two countries, and that all necessary opportunities and potential exist to achieve this goal.

Today, 2,137 enterprises with Turkish capital are operating in Uzbekistan. In 2025, $2.6 billion in investments were attracted from Turkiye.

Leading Turkish companies are implementing over 100 projects in Uzbekistan. Specifically, Aksa Energy, Cengiz Enerji, and Çalık Enerji are contributing to creating new capacities in the energy sector.

Anadolu Isuzu is advancing the development of the automotive industry and commercial vehicle production, increasing localization levels, and expanding opportunities to enter regional markets. Ostim Global Industrial Zone is emerging as a new platform for industrial cooperation and joint ventures.

Furthermore, Esan Eczacıbaşı is contributing to the development of strategic resources in geology and mining, while companies like Özgüven are involved in implementing construction, infrastructure, and modern urban planning projects.

At the conclusion of the forum, the parties expressed their readiness to continue their practical dialogue on further intensifying trade and investment ties, increasing joint production projects, deepening industrial cooperation, and enhancing technology transfer and export potential.
