Uzbekistan and Korea hold business forum in Tashkent

On July 5, the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum was held in Tashkent as part of the official visit of the delegation from the city of Ulsan. The event brought together over 100 representatives from the business community and government agencies of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.

The forum was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjaev, and the Mayor of Ulsan, Kim Do-gyum. In their speeches, they noted the steady progress in bilateral partnership and emphasized their readiness to further expand economic cooperation.

During the dialogue, Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities were presented, including priority areas for cooperation such as energy, electrical engineering, tourism, and other industries. Both sides expressed mutual interest in creating favorable conditions for joint project implementation and developing industrial cooperation.

A key outcome of the forum was the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the implementation of “green” energy initiatives. The document was signed by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Economic Assembly, the Ulsan City Administration, and leading Korean companies — Hyundai Engineering, Samsung C&T, LG Energy Solution, Korea East-West Power, Doosan Enerbility, and LS Electric.

The forum also included B2B and B2G negotiations, during which business and government representatives discussed practical aspects of launching new projects and exchanged concrete proposals for strengthening partnerships.
