Qualified workforce is most in demand on Kazakhstan’s labor market

Since the beginning of 2026, employers have posted 102,700 job vacancies and job seekers have submitted 162,400 resumes on the Enbek.kz online job exchange in Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

The number of job seekers exceeds the number of vacancies, with an average of 1.58 resumes per vacancy. Over 80% of all vacancies are for qualified workforce.

Blue-collar jobs account for 47.6% (48,900) of all vacancies. The most sought-after positions among employers are nurses (1,900 vacancies), orderlies and drivers (1,800 vacancies for each), as well as mathematics teachers (1,700).

By industry, demand is concentrated in five sectors, accounting for 66.4% of all vacancies. Education traditionally leads the demand, with over 33,000 vacancies (about a third of the total), followed by services sector — 11,400 (11.1%), and healthcare and social sector — 9,700 (9.5%). High demand for personnel was also recorded in public administration (7,000) and the manufacturing industry (6,900).

The largest number of vacancies are available in Astana (8,900), Turkestan (7,300) and Karaganda (7,100) regions, and in Almaty (6,900).

In January, employers offered the highest salaries to drilling supervisors (from 991,000 tenge or $2,026), site managers in the mining industry (from 876,000 tenge or $1,791), and chief geologists (from 803,000 tenge or $1,642).

Job seekers had the highest salary expectations for the positions of new product development project managers (1.3 million tenge or $2,658), commercial directors in the private sector (1.2 million tenge or $2,453), and commissioning and testing engineers (865,000 tenge or $1,768).
