Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan sign Trump’s Board of Peace charter

On January 22 in the Swiss city of Davos, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Charter of the Board of Peace, initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The charter was also signed by heads of state, prime ministers, and foreign ministers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Argentina, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Morocco, Mongolia, Paraguay, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and other countries.

The signing ceremony was chaired by United States President Donald Trump.

The Board of Peace is being formed as part of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which was supported by a UN Security Council resolution.

The Board of Peace is designed to reduce the risks of escalation and create a favorable environment for the economic and social recovery of the Gaza Strip. An opportunity is created to build a New Gaza with a prosperous economy, a peaceful life, with a prospect of establishing a Palestinian state.

By signing the Charter, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan joined the founding states of the Board of Peace.
