New EU ambassador arrives in Tajikistan

The European Union has announced the arrival of Mr Radosław Darski, as the new EU Ambassador to Tajikistan. 

Ambassador Darski brings a wealth of diplomatic experience and expertise in European policy, regional cooperation, and international relations.

With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Ambassador Darski has held key positions within the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Union Delegations, and his national diplomatic service. Most recently, Mr Darski served as Deputy Director at the European Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland in Warsaw, overseeing policies related to the Western Balkans, Turkey, South Caucasus, and the Eastern Partnership.

Prior to this, he was Deputy Director of the Eastern Department at the MFA in Warsaw, covering Central Asia, South Caucasus, and Eastern Partnership initiatives. His extensive regional experience also includes leadership roles at the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan and Georgia, where he managed political and information sections, fostering cooperation with EU Member States and regional partners.

Ambassador Darski has also served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Polish Embassy in Minsk. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science with a focus on International Relations from the University of Wroclaw, Poland, and is fluent in Polish, English, and Russian.

Commenting on his appointment, Ambassador Darski expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening EU-Tajikistan relations and supporting the country’s development initiatives within the broader regional context. 

Ambassador Darski replaces Ambassador Raimundas Karoblis, who has served in this position for three years.
