Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University opens Eurasian Development Bank’s branded lecture hall

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), in collaboration with the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPP Centre) at the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, has opened a branded lecture hall at one of the country’s leading universities, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU).

The new facility was established under the EDB Technical Assistance Project to Develop the PPP Institutional Environment in the Kyrgyz Republic. The project seeks to build competencies and expertise in public-private partnership (PPP) development by equipping specialists with advanced tools for investment analysis and PPP project management.

The lecture hall features modern multimedia equipment and visual elements in the corporate styles of the EDB and KRSU. It will host lectures, seminars, project sessions and research-to-practice conferences dedicated to PPP development and Eurasian integration.

Nurlan Akmatov, EDB Director for the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized that opening the lecture hall marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between educational and financial institutions: “This is a symbolic and significant milestone in the implementation of joint initiatives. The project supports the creation of modern educational programs and fosters an environment where knowledge is combined with practical experience. Young professionals will acquire the skills required to participate in PPP projects, while their energy and ambition will drive the country’s sustainable economic development.”

Svetlana Maslova, Director of PPP Projects at the EDB, noted: “The Bank has been implementing similar Technical Assistance Fund projects in other member countries – Armenia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan – thereby creating prospects for integration and cooperation in the PPP sphere with the involvement of universities and national PPP centres in the member countries under the EDB’s leadership and on its platform.”

Evgeny Shekunov, Pro-Rector for Research at KRSU, noted that the opening of the EDB lecture hall reflects the university’s ongoing renewal and development: “KRSU is transforming, and such projects are part of this process. I am confident that cooperation with the Eurasian Development Bank will inspire new ideas, research and educational programs that meet the challenges of today’s economy.”
