Kazakhstan and Vietnam hold Business Roundtable

The Kazakhstan-Vietnam Business Roundtable was held in Astana on May 6 with the participation of officials, representatives of business and government agencies of the two countries. The event was held in the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Tho Lam and was aimed at developing practical cooperation between the countries, Kazakh Invest reported.

The roundtable was opened by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev and General Secretary Tho Lam, who expressed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade and investment ties, and fostering stronger business-to-business collaboration.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov presented the country’s economic and investment potential, stressing Kazakhstan’s strategic focus on building resilient production chains with partners in Southeast Asia.

“Kazakhstan and Vietnam already enjoy positive economic relations, but the potential goes far beyond the current level. We invite Vietnamese companies to collaborate in agriculture, food processing, light industry, pharmaceuticals, and transport infrastructure. Kazakhstan offers a gateway to the markets of Central Asia, the EAEU, and the European Union. We are ready to provide comprehensive government support and focus on project-based cooperation,” Kuantyrov stated.

The discussion covered practical conditions for launching investment projects, including tax and customs incentives, land and infrastructure access, and investment agreement mechanisms. Kazakhstan emphasized its focus on projects with high localization, export orientation, and job creation.

The following agreements were signed during the roundtable:

A strategic cooperation agreement between Qazaq Air and VietJet to launch a new joint brand VietJet Qazaqstan;

A service agreement between VietJet Kazakhstan and Boeing;

The handover of 10 ambulances from Mareven Food to Almaty Region as a gift. The roundtable served as a launchpad for new initiatives, with further B2B discussions and interagency cooperation expected to follow.
