More than 120 passengers went on a trip on the tourist train Jibek Joly on April 30. The tourist train was organized by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the country’s national railway company, with the assistance of Uzbekistan Railways, the Tourism Committee and the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, and Kazakh Tourism.
The trip allows tourists to visit historical places of both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The train departed from Almaty along the route Almaty – Turkestan – Bukhara – Samarkand – Tashkent – Shymkent – Almaty. The duration of the tour is 8 days — from April 30 to May 7.
It is the fifth tourist train running between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The train route runs through the iconic cultural and historical places of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Over the course of eight days, the tour participants will visit the largest architectural and historical monuments, including the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the
Otyrar settlement in Turkestan, the Ark fortress and Lyabi-Khauz square in Bukhara, the mausoleum of Amir Timur and Registan square in Samarkand, the mausoleum of Tole bi and the memorial complex of Hazrati Imam in Tashkent.
The tourist package includes travel on the tourist train, a tourist program with professional guides, excursions with entrance tickets and transfers organized by tour operators.
The launch of the tourist train is an important step in the development of railway tourism, contributing to the strengthening of cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the popularization of the historical heritage of the region.
