Afghanistan’s Kam Air partners with Uzbekistan Airways

Afghanistan’s Kam Air said that in order to provide more convenience and reduce travel costs for Afghan citizens, it has recently signed an interline cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan Airways, TOLOnews reported.

According to the company, with the signing of this agreement, Afghan passengers can now travel in transit through Tashkent Airport from European countries, the United States, and other destinations served by Uzbekistan Airways, by using Kam Air flights from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan.

Jahed Azimi, CEO of Kam Air, said: “After significant efforts, we managed to sign the Interline Agreement with Uzbekistan Airways. This airline, which flies to Europe and the United States, now makes it possible for our passengers to first travel to Tashkent and from there reach Kabul via the shortest route.”

The company also announced that in addition to five weekly flights to Istanbul, it will also begin flights to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

Initially, there will be two flights per week to this airport, and later, the number of flights will gradually increase to daily.

According to the Afghan Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, currently, two domestic airlines and seven foreign airlines are operating in the country, flying to various regional and international destinations.
