Eurasian Creative Guild meets Paraguay’s distinguished musician

Music truly knows no borders.

During his visit to Paraguay, Marat Akhmedjanov, the founder of the British publishing house Hertfordshire Press and patron of the Eurasian Creative Guild (London), had the pleasure of meeting one of the country’s most distinguished musicians and one of the leading figures in Latin American classical music, Maestro Diego Sánchez Haase. A conductor, composer, and pianist, he is a two-time recipient of Paraguay’s National Music Prize, President of the Bach Society of Paraguay, and one of the region’s foremost advocates of classical music. He is widely regarded as one of the leading representatives of the contemporary Paraguayan classical school.

It was especially inspiring to learn that Maestro Sánchez Haase is a great admirer of Eurasian classical music and is well acquainted with the work of a Eurasian Creative Guild member and renowned composer, Tolib Shahidi.

The conversation covered music, cultural diplomacy, potential joint projects, and new opportunities for cooperation between Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America.

Uzbekistan also became an important part of the discussion. Marat Akhmedjanov presented the Maestro with Hertfordshire Press’s signature travel guide to this remarkable country. He accepted the book with genuine enthusiasm and shared that he hopes to use it in the near future to discover Uzbekistan for himself.

Meetings like this once again demonstrate how the projects of the Eurasian Creative Guild and Hertfordshire Press bring together people of international standing. Art creates connections that transcend distance, language, and national borders.
