Innovative technology hub to be established in Kyrgyzstan

The Central Asia Capital investment fund and the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of Kyrgyzstan have signed a memorandum aimed at establishing the country’s first innovative technology hub, Central Asia Hub, a platform for the development of high technology and localization of production.

According to Central Asia Capital, the new hub will span 7 hectares in Tokmok, a city 60 km east of Bishkek. It will host startups, manufacturing facilities, and research laboratories, uniting public and private initiatives into a single ecosystem.

The first major project at the hub will be a $30 million plant for the production of the national car, Muras, supported by Russian carmaker AvtoVAZ. A semi-knocked-down assembly plant with a capacity of up to 1,500 cars per year is planned to begin operations in 2026. Within the next 10 years, the plant will create up to 1,500 jobs and increase its production capacity to 7,000 cars per year.

In addition to cars, the facility plans to manufacture medical X-ray equipment, robotic equipment, and intelligent automation systems.

“We view this project as a strategic investment in the future of Kyrgyzstan’s technology industry. It’s important for us to develop an engineering school so that innovations are born here, within the country,” said Anton Sobin, founder of Central Asia Capital.

The hub model is built on a strong partnership between the state and private capital. The Ministry of Digital Development sets the strategic direction, while Central Asia Capital provides investment and commercialization of projects. This model guarantees long-term sustainability, attracting new investors, and creating modern jobs.

“The creation of a tech hub in Tokmok will become a center of attraction for growing companies. We are creating a platform that will help maintain sustainable GDP growth rates through the development of manufacturing and the creation of new jobs,” emphasized Azamat Jamangulov, Minister of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan.

Sobin added that the hub will create thousands of jobs and facilitate industrial cooperation between Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
